2014 and it’s the start of something new! At least we have the chance to feel like it is. I don’t know about you, I don’t make a bunch of New Year’s resolutions, but I do take some time to reflect and also project into the future. I have a few ideas that I will try to implement going forward. Always good to have a few ideas.
How about this, I would like this year to be a year less people got killed or arrested. I would like more peace on earth. They say that stuff has to start with yourself, so maybe I could at least try to complain less and be thankful more. I could do that.
I do want to say thank you to all my clients who I have worked with this past year. Not only have you employed me and helped my family eat, but you have given me wonderful times and experiences and I am so grateful. Thank you.
I hope you all have a great year, and I hope that I do too. Now get out there and show them what you’ve got!
A biologist, a chemist, and a statistician are out hunting. The biologist shoots at a deer and misses 5ft to the left, the chemist takes a shot and misses 5ft to the right, the statistician yells “We got ‘em!”
Thanks to the staff at AAPC for having me entertain at their event celebrating their 125,000 member! Good to see my friends and share a few laughs. I agree, work is better with fun. So is life. So is anything. That was fun!
Just wanted to give a quick thank you to First Colony Mortgage and the Utah State Orthopedic Society for having me perform at there recent events. Every time I get in front of an audience I can feel the connection and it’s what makes live performance so special. We had a few laughs and lots of smiles. Thanks!
Jim was in a bad mood, and anyone who got in is way was going to regret it. Jim walked into his favorite restaurant and plopped himself down on a chair. “Get me a steak well done with mashed potatoes. ” Three minutes later when his order came, Jim screamed “DIDN’T YOU HEAR ME SAY WELL DONE?!” “Why thank you sir” the waitress smiled, ”that was the first compliment I got all day!”
People can use compliments, they don’t take much to give. I am going to give one away today.
Howdy. Well, it seems like one of those weeks where the world is crazy. Maybe it just my perception or maybe it really has been a crazy week. Sometimes I have “one of those days” so I believe the world can have one too. I have noticed that that when I have had really devastating days, the world seems to keep chugging along. I think there are always people who are being devastated, even on my happiest days. Let’s face it, if you get killed your day sucks 100% no matter if for everyone else everything is fine. We don’t add our experience and their experience together and take the average. When it sucks for you, it sucks.
So here’s to being grateful for the good times. Here’s to managing expectations to be thankful for the half of the glass that is full and not disappointed for the glass that is half empty. We know how to do it when we escape with our lives, here’s to doing it while living my life.
Happy Friday! Something about spring weekends that I love. I haven’t posted here in a while, amazing how time slips through my hands.
So much in communications is changing, but the core remains making a connection. What creates a connection? For one thing, being able to see ourselves in the other. Shared values. Respect. Simple things. It can be so hard to stay focused as opposed to getting mired down in the small transactions of life and distracted by things that don’t get me closer to my big goals.
So here’s to doing better at remembering what matters and keeping it foremost in my thoughts.
Thanks to everybody at AAPC for a great conference in Orlando! Great to see everyone again.
I have performed at many, many events. Culinary Crafts is a great caterer that shows up frequently, and they are great! Our client Diamond Rental assigned us to interview the owner, Mary Crafts. I have know Mary for years so it was a nice chance to bump into her again. If you would like to see our video of her, click here.
It’s one of my favorite things about this time of year, DEMOLITION DERBY! We joined some friends at a small-town derby the other weekend and saw something amazing. Happened to have a pocket video camera with us so we shot some quick film and cut together a fun social media piece. You can see it here.
“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
